About Event Venues for 50 Guests

The 50-guest count is one of the most versatile event sizes in New York City, sitting right at the sweet spot where a gathering feels genuinely social without losing the energy that comes from a packed room. Whether you are planning a corporate team offsite, a product launch, or a milestone birthday, this guest count gives you access to some of NYC's most compelling private and semi-private spaces without the pressure of filling a cavernous ballroom. From the rustic SoHo loft at The Farm SoHo on Broadway to the intimate Velvet Room at Velvet Brooklyn in Williamsburg, the venues in this collection were built for exactly this kind of event. In 2026, the demand for mid-size event spaces across Manhattan and Brooklyn has never been stronger, and the good news is that the options have never been better. Little More in Tribeca offers a back area upstairs that holds up to 65 guests with a minimum spend starting at just $500, making it a remarkably accessible entry point for a venue with a 45-foot marble bar and cocktails from the team behind Apotheke. Sugar Mouse in the East Village brings something entirely different to the table with its AI-powered 360-degree immersive environment, a main dancefloor section that fits around 60 guests, and a minimum spend of just $90, which is hard to beat for a tech-forward space with live music capabilities and classic parlor games. Members Only West Village channels the iconic energy of downtown cool with craft cocktails and elevated bites in one of Manhattan's most walkable and desirable neighborhoods. The Farm SoHo's main event venue caps at exactly 50 guests inside a sun-soaked 1,000-square-foot loft with 15-foot ceilings, a built-in sound system, projector, and the flexibility to bring in outside catering, making it a strong pick for workshops, panels, and branded activations alike.

Expert Tip

When booking for exactly 50 guests, look closely at venues with dedicated sections rather than defaulting to a full buyout. The Entire Back Area Upstairs at Little More in Tribeca holds 65 and starts at a $500 minimum spend, giving your group breathing room without paying for a 200-person venue. Pairing a semi-private section with a strong food and beverage minimum is the most cost-effective way to secure a truly private feel at this guest count.

Venue Selection Guide

Your 2026 Guide to Booking the Perfect 50-Person Venue in NYC

Choosing the Right Space for Your Event Type

The nature of your event should drive your venue decision more than anything else. A corporate offsite or product launch calls for a different energy than a birthday dinner or cocktail party. For a polished team gathering or client event, Little More in Tribeca offers a sophisticated atmosphere with its 45-foot marble bar and private sections like the Entire Back Area Upstairs, while The Farm SoHo Loft on Broadway provides a bright, flexible blank-canvas loft with AV built in, ideal for presentations and workshops. For a social celebration, Velvet Brooklyn in Williamsburg brings the fun with a disco ball, DJ controller, and a dedicated Velvet Room that fits exactly 60 guests. If your group values something truly one-of-a-kind, Sugar Mouse in the East Village delivers a 360-degree immersive AI-powered environment, and Loft Story in Greenpoint offers a stylish speakeasy space for up to 60 guests alongside rooftop and projection-mapped loft options.

Understanding Minimums and Budgeting Realistically

For a group of 50, minimum spends across these venues vary widely, so it pays to know your budget upfront before falling in love with a space. Grace and Ruby's in Brooklyn has one of the lowest minimums in this collection at just $50, making it an excellent pick for casual celebrations or community-style events on a tight budget. On the higher end, St Tropez West Village and Mino Brasserie in the West Village both carry $1,000 minimums, and Third Falcon in Fort Greene also starts at $1,000 for a full venue buyout, which makes more sense when your group is ordering a full dinner with wine. Do not forget to factor in additional fees where applicable, such as The Farm SoHo Loft's $200 cleaning fee and optional bartender and security guard fees, since those can add up quickly when calculating your all-in cost.

Timing Your Booking and Event Day

In 2026, the most in-demand venues are booking out four to eight weeks in advance, especially for Friday and Saturday nights, so the sooner you inquire, the better your options. If your event is mid-week, you will find more flexibility and sometimes more favorable minimums, as seen with Grace and Ruby's Monday through Wednesday booking section. Corporate events and team offsites tend to work well on weekday evenings when venues are less congested, and spaces like Resobox in the East Village or the LES Storefront Gallery on Allen Street can be reserved after hours for a more focused, private atmosphere. For larger celebrations where you want the energy of a weekend crowd, venues like Bardough on Restaurant Row in Hell's Kitchen and Members Only West Village are well-positioned for pre-theater or late-night gatherings.

Key Questions to Ask Before You Commit

Before confirming any venue, ask whether the listed capacity is for standing, seated, or a combination of both, since this dramatically affects the experience. At Velvet Brooklyn, for example, the Main Bar fits 50 guests privately, while the Velvet Room stretches to 60, so clarifying the layout for your specific headcount matters. Ask about exclusivity, especially at restaurant venues like Casa D'Angelo in Little Italy, where the Venice Room holds 60 guests privately but the broader restaurant may still be operating. Confirm what is included in the minimum spend versus what incurs additional charges, and for raw or flexible spaces like Resobox, ask specifically about their BYO catering and alcohol policies, since the rules vary significantly across venues.

Neighborhood Tips for Guests and Logistics

Tribeca and SoHo venues like Little More and The Farm SoHo Loft are well-served by multiple subway lines, making them easy for guests coming from across the five boroughs. East Village spots including Sugar Mouse, Saint Restaurant Bar and Speakeasy, and Resobox cluster near the Astor Place 6 train and the L at Third Avenue, which is convenient for guests coming from Brooklyn. For Brooklyn venues, Velvet Brooklyn sits near the J, M, and Z at Marcy Avenue and the L at Bedford Avenue, while Loft Story and Tørst in Greenpoint are both a short walk from the G train at Nassau Avenue. If you are hosting guests coming in from outside the city or staying in Midtown, the Hudson Yards Hotel atrium and Bardough on Restaurant Row are among the easiest to reach given their proximity to multiple major transit hubs.

Insider Picks for Specific Vibes

For the most atmospheric and memorable experience, Silence Please on the Bowery is an underrated gem for groups who want to gather around music, whether for an album release, a brand event, or just an unusual alternative to a typical bar night. If your group wants dining at the center of the experience, Third Falcon in Fort Greene offers Northern French cuisine from a chef with Eleven Madison Park experience, making it ideal for a milestone dinner or upscale client entertainment. The Love Shack in Bushwick, a life-size dollhouse built inside an ex-industrial building, is genuinely unlike anything else in NYC and works beautifully for creative brand activations, intimate celebrations, or photoshoots for up to 50 guests. For corporate teams looking to mix fun with function in 2026, Sugar Mouse in the East Village combines ping pong, pool, a stage, and an AI-powered immersive environment that makes team-building feel less like an obligation and more like a night out.

Casa D'Angelo in Little Italy, dating to 1902, has a Venice Room for up to 60 guests serving Southern Italian specialties with white-jacketed service. For a more modern take, Little More in Tribeca features an acclaimed menu with dishes like vertical spiral lasagna, birria ramen, and crab mac and cheese alongside a botanical cocktail program.
What should I know about booking a 50-person event in Brooklyn versus Manhattan based on this venue list?

Absolutely fantastic. Great vibes, great music, and they even put a birthday message with my name on the screens around us!!! So accommodating and communicative. 100% recommend to EVERYONE!!!

I hosted an audio visual show at Loft Story and it was amazing. The projection and sound set up is incredible and turns any event into a rich, experience. The staff was super friendly and accommodating to all the various needs that required my event to go seamlessly!

This is a great space and as far as I can tell, the **only** 24/7 space in NYC you can get a day pass to. That's huge if you need to set up before 0800 / 0900. Plus it's a fun quirky space with tons of room.

Lovely place. Would book again
