Grand event spaces for large-scale events and galas

Featuring venues with capacity for 400+ guests.

About Massive Venues for 500+ Guests

When your guest list crosses the 400-person threshold, you enter a different league of NYC event planning entirely. The venues in this collection are built for the kind of nights that people talk about for years, from immersive art-driven dance clubs in the East Village to tropical oases floating four floors above Times Square. Whether you are planning a corporate gala, a milestone birthday bash, or a full-scale brand activation, these 14 spaces prove that New York City still sets the global standard for large-format events in 2026. Capacity here ranges from 400 to 450 guests across full buyouts and expansive main floors, giving you real flexibility without sacrificing the energy that makes NYC nights legendary.

Expert Tip

For groups pushing the 450-person ceiling, CIRCO in Midtown is worth a serious look since both its Main Floor and Mezzanine each hold 450 guests, meaning a full two-level buyout gives you theatrical dining, live performances, and a world-class DJ setup all under one roof. If you want that same massive capacity but with a comedy and Northern Italian dining twist, The Stand near Union Square offers a Full Buyout for up to 450 guests with a minimum spend starting at $3,334, which is remarkably accessible for an award-winning venue at that scale. Lock in your date early in 2026 because full buyouts at 400-plus-person venues in Manhattan disappear fast, especially in the fourth quarter holiday season.

The Stand NYC

For corporate galas or milestone celebrations in 2026, the ability to book A-list comedic talent directly through a venue with this level of culinary and production polish is genuinely rare in NYC.

Palma Verde

Perched four floors above Broadway in the heart of Times Square, Palma Verde seats up to 400 guests in its private main dining space and surrounds them with lush tropical decor and craft cocktails that feel worlds away from the Midtown bustle below. For organizers seeking an iconic NYC address paired with a transportive atmosphere, few large-scale venues deliver that contrast as dramatically as this.

CIRCO

With two event spaces each accommodating up to 450 guests, CIRCO in Midtown is built for grand-scale celebrations that demand theatrical flair, combining live artistic performances, world-class DJs, premium bottle service, and a secret garden patio across a bi-level restaurant and lounge. The combination of Latin-inspired live entertainment and a nightclub energy that escalates as the evening progresses makes it one of the most dynamic large-format venues in NYC for 2026 galas and milestone events.

Venue Selection Guide

How to Book a Massive NYC Venue for 500+ Guests: A Practical Planning Guide

Choosing the Right Space for Your Scale

Not all large venues are built the same, so start by matching the vibe to your event. For a true blank-canvas, high-tech spectacle, Nebula in Midtown offers 10,000 sq ft of open floor space with 30-foot ceilings and 1,700 moving LED screen panels, while Unveiled beneath the William Vale Hotel in Williamsburg delivers a subterranean multi-room experience for up to 500 guests. If raw industrial grandeur is your goal, 100 Sutton in Greenpoint brings 15,000 sq ft of Brooklyn warehouse space complete with a 6,000 sq ft main hall, skylights, exposed brick, and a 64-seat screening room. For something with a theatrical or artistic edge, Circo in Midtown offers a bi-level restaurant and lounge with a secret garden patio, and La Victoria in Chelsea can host up to 480 guests across two floors with a full catering kitchen in the basement.

Understanding Minimum Spends and Budgeting Realistically

At this scale, minimum spends vary dramatically across venues, so build your budget before you fall in love with a space. La Victoria requires a $2,500 minimum spend for a full venue buyout of up to 480 guests, while Unveiled also starts at $2,500 for its 500-person full venue takeover. On the more accessible end, 100 Sutton starts at just $350 and Backstage Tavern in Times Square has a minimum spend as low as $63, though full buyout pricing for 400-plus guests will differ. For a full-service comedy and dining experience, The Stand near Union Square carries a $3,334 minimum spend for its 450-person full buyout, which reflects the premium of booking A-list comedic talent and a Northern Italian kitchen. Always confirm whether your minimum spend includes staffing, AV, catering, and bar, or whether those are layered on top.

Timing Your Booking for a 2026 Event

If you are planning a major event for 2026, start reaching out to venues at least four to six months in advance, especially for full buyouts at high-demand spaces like Nebula or Somewhere Nowhere, which holds the title of the highest nightclub and rooftop pool in NYC. Holiday season dates in late 2026 book fastest across the board, so venues like Atolye Venue and Bar in Park Slope and Aventura Skybar, which offers a full indoor and rooftop buyout for up to 550 guests, will fill quickly. Rooftop-forward venues like Backstage Tavern on Restaurant Row in Times Square and Aventura Skybar are particularly popular in late spring and summer, so lock those in early. For weekday corporate events or brand activations, you will generally find more flexibility on dates and negotiating power on minimums.

Key Questions to Ask Before You Sign

Before committing to any large-scale venue, confirm the exact capacity for your specific event format, whether standing reception, seated dinner, or a hybrid, since these numbers differ significantly. For example, Unveiled accommodates 500 standing for a full venue takeover but only 120 seated, and 100 Sutton's 15K sq ft space holds 400 for its main event space configuration. Ask whether the venue has an in-house AV team or requires you to bring your own, since spaces like Nebula and Deluxx Fluxx near Union Square both feature advanced in-house sound and lighting systems. Clarify exclusivity, because venues like CIRCO and DOM list sections with unknown privacy status, so you need to confirm whether your event will share the space. Finally, ask about load-in and setup windows, especially at raw spaces like 100 Sutton, where transforming the blank canvas requires significant lead time.

Neighborhood Insider Tips

Midtown venues like Nebula on West 41st Street and Palma Verde at 1604 Broadway benefit from extraordinary transit access, with multiple subway lines converging at Times Square and Bryant Park, making them ideal for guests traveling from across the city or arriving from out of town. Brooklyn venues like Unveiled in Williamsburg and 100 Sutton in Greenpoint offer a cooler, more editorial aesthetic that works well for brand activations, film premieres, and creative industry events, and both are accessible via the G and L trains. If your crowd skews downtown, Chelsea and the Meatpacking District anchor La Victoria on West 14th Street, which sits steps from The High Line and Chelsea Market. For events with a neighborhood nightlife energy, East Village options like Deluxx Fluxx and Sugar Mouse at 47 3rd Avenue put guests in the middle of one of NYC's most walkable and bar-dense areas, perfect for spilling the celebration out into the neighborhood after the main event.

Insider Recommendations by Event Type

For a corporate gala or awards ceremony in 2026, Nebula is the standout pick with its large performance stage, private VIP entrance, three karaoke breakout rooms, and fully customizable LED environment. For something truly theatrical and unexpected, Somewhere Nowhere on the 38th floor offers stunning skyline views, a rooftop pool, and a private floor buyout for up to 400 guests, making it one of the most iconic settings available for a large-scale private event in New York City.

What People Say About Massive Venues for 500+ Guests

5.0
from 40 reviews across venues

I attended two events in this space during NY Tech Week, and it was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere and vibe were excellent, with plenty of games, areas to chat, a stage, beverages, and big, fun graphics on the walls. Highly recommend this venue for events!

Really nice layout with tons of really cool light fixtures on the ceiling and black lights. The drink were well prepared and served from a draft like system. They had several DJ’s playing including Matthew Law repping out of West Philly.

For the 2025 Art of Brooklyn Film Festival, 100 Sutton and its staff were kind enough to let us rent their space for some screenings. The place was perfect in regards to atmosphere, accessibility, and capacity. The staff were all incredibly helpful and wonderful to talk to, especially Daniela! Could not recommend this place enough for events!

Attended a funeral repast here. Beautiful venue! Attentive Staff! Grand place for events!!! I really love the Cozy on the Slope vibe at Atolye Venue & Bar!

One of my new favorite spots in Manhattan. If you’re reading this, stop by and you won’t regret it. The food is delicious, atmosphere is comfortable, and above all, the service is tremendous. I’ve come twice (the first time the kitchen closed early) and each time the staff members went above and beyond to make sure I was well treated while in the establishment. I’m originally from the Chicago, so my standards for kind/friendly people is high. Whoever trained this staff and whoever employs them is doing a fantastic job. Amidst busy work days, hot weather, large crowds - I’ve found a gem in Backstage Tavern. I’ll be recommending this place for all corporate events my company hosts and will be bringing family/friends here.
