Featuring venues with capacity for 15-30 guests.

About Private Venues for 20 Guests

Twenty guests is one of the most rewarding group sizes to plan for in New York City. It is large enough to fill a space with genuine energy, but intimate enough that everyone actually connects, converses, and feels like part of the same celebration. In 2026, the venues on this list represent some of the best private and semi-private spaces across Manhattan, from the nautical charm of The Folly on the SoHo and Greenwich Village border to the art-soaked blacklight rooms of Deluxx Fluxx near Union Square. Whether you are planning a private dinner, a milestone birthday, or a close-knit corporate gathering, this sweet spot of 15 to 30 guests gives you real options without the logistical headaches of a larger event. The neighborhoods covered here span some of NYC's most dynamic pockets. T-Squared Social puts your group steps from Grand Central Terminal in Midtown, with Party Suites and Golf Bays each holding exactly 20 guests in a semi-private setting packed with games, simulators, and NYC's largest TV screen. Meanwhile, The Farm SoHo Loft on Broadway offers a sun-soaked 1,000 square foot historic loft with 15-foot ceilings and rustic designer details that make even a small gathering feel like a full production. For something genuinely one of a kind, Deluxx Fluxx's Mirror Booth and Blue Booth sections each cap at 20 guests inside a former Webster Hall space designed by internationally recognized street artists. What unites these venues is their ability to make a group of 20 feel like the only people in the room. The Folly's Private Mezzanine seats up to 30 and comes equipped with a projector, DJ booth, and a vintage photo booth, turning a simple dinner into a full evening. The Markey Gallery in Midtown brings a smoke-friendly, creative loft atmosphere with flexible layouts ideal for private receptions and pop-ups. Across every neighborhood and vibe represented here, you will find that the 20-guest format consistently unlocks the most personalized and memorable versions of what NYC nightlife and event spaces have to offer.

Expert Tip

When booking for exactly 20 guests, prioritize venues that list a dedicated section at that capacity rather than carving space out of a larger room. T-Squared Social's Party Suites and Golf Bays are purpose-built for groups of 20 with a minimum spend starting at $110, making them one of the most accessible semi-private options in Midtown. If you want a fully private experience, The Folly's Private Mezzanine in the Greenwich Village and SoHo area accommodates up to 30 guests with no minimum spend, giving you built-in flexibility without financial pressure.

Venue Highlights

T-Squared Social

With dedicated Party Suites and Golf Bays each capped at 20 guests, T-Squared Social turns a small Midtown gathering into a full-on experience — think duckpin bowling, golf simulators, darts, and ping pong all steps from Grand Central. It's the rare semi-private setup that keeps your crew together while the energy of one of NYC's most iconic entertainment venues buzzes around you.

The Folly

The Folly's Private Mezzanine on the SoHo-Greenwich Village border is a gem for groups of 20 who want a fully private space without sacrificing atmosphere — nautical-accented decor, craft cocktails, and a vintage photo booth make it feel like a real occasion. A built-in AV setup and DJ booth mean you can go from an intimate seafood dinner to a proper party without skipping a beat.

Deluxx Fluxx

For 20 guests who want something genuinely unforgettable, Deluxx Fluxx offers two private sections — the Mirror Booth and Blue Booth — each perfectly sized for the group, inside one of the East Village's most visually stunning venues. Original artwork by FAILE and BAST, an iconic blacklight room, and customizable LED screens make this the anti-boring option for birthdays and celebrations near Union Square.

The Farm Soho Loft

The Farm SoHo's Lounge section on Broadway in SoHo offers a fully private setting for up to 16 guests inside a sun-soaked historic loft with 15-foot ceilings, reclaimed wood accents, and designer antique props — the kind of space that makes a small dinner party feel like an editorial shoot. With outside catering allowed and a built-in sound system and projector, it's a blank canvas that punches well above its intimate capacity.

Markey gallery

Perched just above Midtown in 1,750 square feet of airy, modern gallery space, the Markey Gallery brings a cool-creative edge to private gatherings — whether you're hosting a dinner party, a rehearsal dinner, or a pop-up celebration for around 20 guests. Its flexible hourly booking, smoke-friendly policy, and lounge-forward vibe make it one of the more distinctive and low-pressure options in the collection.

Venue Selection Guide

Your 2026 Guide to Booking a Private Venue for 20 Guests in NYC

Finding the Right Fit for Your Group

The sweet spot of 20 guests is one of the most versatile party sizes in NYC — intimate enough to feel personal, lively enough to create real energy. Think carefully about the vibe you want before browsing spaces. A Southern-Italian supper house like Bird Dog in the West Village, with its warm mismatched decor and curated menus, feels very different from the blacklight-lit art installation energy of Deluxx Fluxx near Union Square. For something transportive and romantic, Le Petit Village in Greenwich Village offers a Provencal bistro atmosphere, while T-Squared Social near Grand Central brings game simulators and NYC's largest TV screen into the mix. Matching the venue's personality to your group's personality is the single most important decision you will make.

Understanding Minimums and Budgeting Realistically

Minimum spends across this collection range from as low as $50 at HQ Studio Space in Queens to $8,000 for Loulou's Full Venue Buyout in Chelsea, so setting a realistic budget before you fall in love with a space is essential. For smaller budgets, Grace and Ruby's in Williamsburg has a minimum spend of just $75, and Astoria World Manor's Clubhouse starts at $100 — both solid options if you want a private room without a heavy financial commitment. Mid-range options like The Rose in Chelsea ($100 minimum for semi-private tables) and The Folly on the SoHo and Greenwich Village border ($200 minimum for a private mezzanine) offer significantly more atmosphere for a modest outlay. Keep in mind that some venues like The Farm SoHo Loft list additional fees separately, including a $200 cleaning fee and a $45 per hour bartender fee, so always ask for an all-in cost breakdown before signing anything.

Timing Your Booking and Event

For 2026, popular intimate venues in neighborhoods like the West Village, Chelsea, and SoHo tend to book out four to six weeks in advance on weekends, so do not wait until the last minute. If your date is flexible, a Tuesday through Thursday event can unlock better availability and sometimes lower minimums, especially at restaurant-forward spaces like Festivál Café on the Upper East Side or Casa D'Angelo in Little Italy. Seasonal timing matters too — Loulou's beautiful outdoor Cabanas, which seat up to 22 and hold up to 30 for a reception, are only available from April 15th through November 15th, so plan accordingly if that space appeals to you. For spaces like Sing NYC's GlassHouse in the West Village, which features a transparent ceiling for natural light, a daytime or early evening event in spring or fall will look stunning.

Questions to Ask Before You Commit

Always confirm whether your preferred section is fully private or semi-private, since that distinction shapes the entire feel of your event. For example, T-Squared Social's Party Suites and Golf Bay are listed as semi-private, meaning some ambient venue energy will be present, while Bird Dog's Salon sections are fully private. Ask whether outside vendors, caterers, or decorators are permitted — The Farm SoHo Loft explicitly allows outside catering, which can be a significant cost saver. Inquire about what AV equipment is included versus what costs extra, particularly if you plan on presentations or a DJ set, since venues like Deluxx Fluxx offer customizable LED screens and a Danley Sound Labs sound system, while smaller raw spaces may have nothing built in. Finally, always ask about the security deposit policy and cancellation terms in writing.

Neighborhood-Specific Tips for NYC Hosts

Midtown venues like T-Squared Social and Golden Hof are extremely accessible for guests coming from outer boroughs or the suburbs, thanks to Grand Central and Penn Station proximity, making them smart picks for mixed guest lists. Downtown neighborhoods like the West Village and SoHo offer the most walkable post-event options — after a dinner at Bird Dog or Le Petit Village, guests can easily continue the night at nearby bars without needing to hail a cab. Brooklyn venues like TORST in Greenpoint and Grace and Ruby's in Williamsburg reward guests who make the trip with a more neighborhood-feel experience and generally lower minimums than comparable Manhattan spots. If your group is Queens-based or you want something genuinely off the beaten path, HQ Studio Space in LIC and Astoria World Manor offer flexible, affordable options that locals love but out-of-towners rarely discover.

Insider Picks for Memorable Small Gatherings

For a truly unique experience in 2026, consider the GlassHouse at Sing NYC in the West Village — a 500 square foot Mars-themed space with vivid red walls, life-sized astronaut figures, and a transparent ceiling that seats exactly 26 guests, making it almost tailor-made for a group of 20. If your crowd loves craft beer and cool design, TORST's private back room in Greenpoint fits 45 and pairs world-class rotating drafts with Scandinavian minimalist aesthetics. For the dinner-party crowd that wants something quintessentially New York and genuinely romantic, Le Petit Village's Second Floor Mezzanine holds up to 30 guests in a fully private setting with classic French bistro cuisine and a thoughtfully curated wine list. And if your group wants games, a celebrity-founded venue, and Midtown convenience all in one, T-Squared Social's Party Suites or Golf Bay sections are hard to beat for a birthday or corporate outing that actually feels fun.

Setting a realistic budget before browsing helps narrow down whether you want a no-frills creative space or a polished private dining experience.
Which venues in this collection offer a truly private room rather than a semi-private section for 20 guests?
Several venues offer fully private spaces at the 20-guest mark. The Folly's Private Mezzanine in SoHo is listed as private for up to 30 guests, and Le Petit Village's Second Floor Mezzanine in Greenwich Village is private for up to 30. Bird Dog in the West Village offers its Salon for up to 26 guests as a private section, and Sing NYC's GlassHouse in the West Village is a private space for up to 26 seated guests. If full privacy is non-negotiable, confirm the room designation with the venue before booking, since some sections like T-Squared Social's Party Suites are listed as semi-private.
Are there any venues in this collection that are ideal for a private dinner with a strong culinary focus for around 20 guests?
Yes, several venues shine specifically for intimate private dining. Le Petit Village in Greenwich Village offers a Provencal-inspired French bistro atmosphere with classic bistro cuisine and a curated wine list, with the Second Floor Mezzanine accommodating up to 30 guests privately. Bird Dog in the West Village is a Southern-Italian supper house where the Salon seats up to 22 at one table with curated menus and optional open-bar packages. Which neighborhoods in this collection have the highest concentration of intimate venues for 20 guests, and what should I know about each?
The West Village and Greenwich Village offer some of the most refined options, including Bird Dog, Le Petit Village, and Sing NYC, all of which lean toward upscale private dining with distinct personalities. Are there any unique or themed venue options for a group of 20 that go beyond a standard bar or restaurant setting?

For Queens, Astoria World Manor's Clubhouse starts at $100 and HQ Studio Space in LIC starts at $50, both offering flexible layouts for creative or casual gatherings.
What should I ask a venue before booking a private space for exactly 20 guests in NYC?
First, confirm whether the section is fully private or semi-private, since venues like T-Squared Social list their 20-capacity sections as semi-private, meaning other guests may be nearby. Ask whether the minimum spend applies to food and beverage only or includes rental fees, since some venues like The Farm SoHo Loft list additional cleaning and staffing fees on top of their base rate. It is also worth asking about AV capabilities for your group, as venues like The Folly include a projector and DJ booth, while others like Sing NYC offer a more intimate raw space. Finally, confirm guest flexibility since some spaces like Bird Dog's Salon can accommodate up to 26 seated or 40 standing, giving you room to grow your list.

Mariah G.at The Folly

Incredible food, experience, atmosphere, and staff. My favorite dish was the Rose Rigatoni. I really wanted to order a second one but had to hold back lol. We also tried the Fried Rice, Kimchi Jigae, and the Burger & Fries. Everything was packed with flavor, and the staff were attentive, kind, and completely on point. Ohhh, don't forget to leave some room for them honey pancakes. And definitely don't miss their happy hour 3PM - 6PM if you're in the area. I'll definitely be back to try some other things on the menu.

Amazing birthday brunch experience! Brought my mom here during our weekend in NYC for her bday. Everyone acknowledged her birthday and made us feel welcomed as soon as we walked in. Iggy was our server and he was the best! Attentive and fun! He told us about the menu, made recommendations and got us started with some yummy mimosas. His service was great and the restaurant overall provided amazing service. The food was a 10/10. Steak and eggs and croissant French toast are a must! Will definitely be back and will request Iggy every time.
