"There are a lot of restaurants, but there's not a lot of nightlife, especially nightlife plus restaurants," he explains. "We're creating a place where people feel welcome to come late night, or even after work." The vision, born from the success of the owners' popular Flushing karaoke lounge, Nine Plus Karaoke, was to bring an elevated, "luxury" experience to Manhattan.

Alan points to the central circular lighting fixture as a focal point, intended to create a "cohesive energy" that draws guests towards the front of the space. Aura 57's versatility has already attracted a diverse clientele. From Douglas Elliman's annual staff party (which utilized the VIP suites for karaoke and the main space for socializing) to a Morgan Stanley year-end celebration and even a Lil Baby album release party, the venue has proven its ability to adapt to different needs. "When someone sees the space, and they have the budget for it, they will never go look for another venue," Alan states confidently. "There's no other venue in New York City that's like us."

Beyond the karaoke capabilities and flexible layout, Aura 57 boasts a 1,200-square-foot kitchen offering a full food menu, and even a separate "mini lounge" that can be used for photo booths or as a quiet retreat. During the summer, three outdoor rooftops are also available (though smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the venue and surrounding vicinity).

The target audience is clearly defined: "Respectful, high-end, professional, and considerate," Alan says, adding that they also want guests who are "open to having fun, but not sloppy." This careful curation of clientele is key to maintaining the venue's elevated atmosphere.

The location, on what's known as Billionaires' Row, is no accident. Adjacent to major corporate offices and the luxurious Hotel 57, Aura 57 is strategically positioned to attract both a high-powered business crowd and discerning tourists. The two-way street provides easy access, further enhancing its appeal.

Aura 57 isn't just offering another night out; it's offering an experience.
