In the heart of ever-evolving New York City, a stylish new destination has arrived. Little More, a cozy, dimly lit bar, offers more than just drinks – it provides a carefully crafted experience focused on sophisticated enjoyment and the tempting idea of wanting "just a little more."
Opened by Aron Watman, an experienced hand in NYC's nightlife scene, Little More has quickly impressed since its November launch. It blends high-level cocktail creation with delicious food, attracting both New Yorkers and visitors looking for something special. "Everyone loves the space. They love the food. The cocktails there are actually really, like, top-notch," Watman shares with pride. With team members who previously worked at the respected Apotheke, Little More's drink menu confidently competes with the city's best.
What makes Little More stand out is its bold take on flavors. Consider the "Cult Classic," their version of an old-fashioned inspired by movie theaters. Bourbon infused for days with buttered popcorn creates a smooth drink with a unique, nostalgic twist. "It still tastes like an old-fashioned, but... you just notice this buttered popcorn vibe," Watman says. Another hit is the "This or Cocaine," an espresso martini whose name alone gets people talking.
Beyond the inventive drinks, the food at Little More is equally impressive. The French dip sandwich, featuring thin roast beef, melted Gruyere, and horseradish cream, is a standout. A perfectly executed double patty smash burger offers classic comfort, while elegant small bites like caviar and mashed potato show a refined touch.
The bar offers two menus, "Little More" for small bites and "Most" for larger meals, giving guests flexibility. "Sometimes people just want little bites," Watman explains, adding they're great for sharing, especially later at night. This adaptable menu appeals to everyone from neighborhood regulars to those seeking an upscale night out.
The bar's look, designed by artist Maureen Walsh and Watman’s wife, Molly, mixes playful plant-themed decor with an inviting, almost seductive atmosphere. A striking botanical wall showcases ingredients used in the cocktails, and the snake-wrapped goblet logo hints at the Garden of Eden and the theme of temptation. "The idea of a little more... like a little bit of temptation," Watman notes, is central to the bar's identity.
Looking ahead, Watman plans to open a "secret" downstairs room for private events. "It's definitely gonna be like a secret, kind of more of a speakeasy room," he suggests, hinting at exclusive gatherings and high-end drinks for a select crowd.
With its commitment to house-made ingredients, seasonal cocktails (expect lighter, fruitier drinks for spring and summer), and a menu mindful of different dietary needs, Little More is on track to become a beloved New York staple.
In a city full of fast trends, Little More provides something lasting: a high-quality experience that delights the senses and keeps you wanting to return. It's more than just a bar; it's a destination offering a hint of temptation right here in NYC.
